We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Blood Donor Unit Assistant. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the blood donation process and ensuring the well-being of donors.
Responsibilities
Assist in the collection of blood from donors, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
Prepare donation sites and equipment for blood collection procedures.
Perform phlebotomy procedures with accuracy and professionalism.
Ensure appropriate labeling and documentation of collected blood units.
Monitor donor well-being and promptly address any adverse reactions.
Maintain inventory of supplies and ensure adequate stock levels.
Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
Adhere to policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
Education
Certificate III in Pathology Collection or equivalent
Current Working with Children Check
Experience
Prior experience in a healthcare or medical environment (desirable).
