Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Blood Donor Unit Assistant. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the blood donation process and ensuring the well-being of donors.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the collection of blood from donors, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
• Prepare donation sites and equipment for blood collection procedures.
• Perform phlebotomy procedures with accuracy and professionalism.
• Ensure appropriate labeling and documentation of collected blood units.
• Monitor donor well-being and promptly address any adverse reactions.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and ensure adequate stock levels.
• Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
• Adhere to policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

Education

• Certificate III in Pathology Collection or equivalent
• Current Working with Children Check

Experience

• Prior experience in a healthcare or medical environment (desirable).

Certifications

• First Aid and CPR Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
