Rock Room Worker

Job Description

Join our team as a Rock Room Worker where you will be tasked with the collection, preparation, and analysis of rock samples. This position demands a high level of attention to detail and a collaborative mindset to ensure accuracy in results.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples for laboratory testing and maintain accurate records.
• Monitor and operate analytical equipment during testing.
• Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.
• Support laboratory practices through regular cleaning and maintenance.
• Participate in achieving project deadlines with the laboratory team.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and report as necessary.
• Conduct ongoing research activities to improve methodologies.

Requirements

Education

• Cert III in Resource Processing or equivalent
• Master’s degree in Geology or Mining is an advantage

Experience

• Experience working in a laboratory setting is preferred

Technical Skills

• Rock sample analysis
• Inventory management

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving skills
• Communication skills

Certifications

• CQI Training
• Quality Control Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Certification in laboratory safety or related field: Prior certification provides additional preference.
• Experience collecting rock samples in the field: Field experience enhances practical knowledge for the role.
