Sandblast Operator

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Sandblast Operator to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out sandblasting operations on different surfaces, ensuring they are adequately prepared for painting or other treatments. The role involves operating specialized equipment and ensuring adherence to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-blasting inspections on surfaces and equipment.
• Adjust blasting pressures and angles for specific tasks.
• Monitor progress and make adjustments as needed.
• Clean equipment and workspaces post jobs.
• Train junior staff on safe sandblasting practices.
• Evaluate and recommend improvements for operational efficiency.

Requirements

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Certificate in Surface Preparation is advantageous

Experience

• 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment

Technical Skills

• Painting Techniques
• Metalworking Skills

Soft Skills

• Communication
• Adaptability

Certifications

• Working at Heights Certification
• Traffic Management Certification (desirable)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of Environmental Regulations: Understanding of regulations in relation to waste management and environmental practices.
• First Aid Training: Having current first aid training is viewed positively.
