Extraction Worker (Hammerman)

Job Description

We are on the lookout for a dedicated and skilled Extraction Worker, also known as a Hammerman, to join our team in Sydney. In this role, you will operate various hand tools and work collaboratively with other specialists to shape and form metal into various products for construction and demolition projects. Your expertise will contribute to the successful execution of our projects while ensuring a high standard of safety and craftsmanship.

Responsibilities

• Utilize various tools, including pneumatic hammers, chisels, and grinders.
• Interpret technical drawings to determine production requirements.
• Set up, calibrate and maintain equipment for optimal performance.
• Collaborate closely with engineers and supervisors to ensure quality standards are met.
• Perform quality checks on finished products to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Adhere to workplace safety regulations and report hazards immediately.
• Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity.
• Document production activities accurately and timely.
• Assist in training new team members on operating procedures and safety standards.

Advantageous

• Experience with CAD Software: Familiarity with computer-aided design software for technical drawings.
• Welding Skills: Experience with welding techniques and equipment.
