Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Shop Cooper to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will be responsible for crafting and repairing barrels, kegs, and casks that meet our high-quality standards. You will work closely with other artisans to maintain the integrity of our products and contribute to a collaborative work environment.

Responsibilities

• Utilize cooperage equipment and woodworking tools proficiently.
• Inspect and select quality wood materials for barrel-making.
• Create barrels, kegs, and casks following specified designs.
• Fix defects in barrels, ensuring top-notch quality for end products.
• Work with production teams to meet customer demand and deadlines.
• Adhere to safety protocols and promote a culture of safety in the workplace.
• Explore and implement new industry practices to enhance productivity.
• Mentor new staff and provide on-the-job training.
• Keep the workspace organized and assist with inventory management.
• Engage in team meetings to discuss production goals and challenges.

Requirements

Education

• Apprenticeship or formal training in cooperage
• High school certificate or equivalent required

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of direct experience in cooperage work.
