Job Description

As a Tool Grinder Operator, you will be responsible for setting up and operating grinding machines to produce precise cutting tools that meet specifications. You will play a crucial role in ensuring our manufacturing processes run efficiently, yielding high-quality products.

Responsibilities

• Operate grinding machines to ensure proper performance and quality of finished products.
• Select appropriate grinding wheels based on material specifications.
• Monitor grinding processes and adjust controls to optimise effectiveness.
• Utilize precision measuring tools to check tolerances and specifications.
• Maintain accurate records of production metrics and safety compliance.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency.
• Provide feedback to engineering on tools that require modification or improvement.

Requirements

Education

• Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade (Toolmaking) or equivalent

Experience

• 2-5 years of experience as a Tool Grinder Operator or similar role

Technical Skills

• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Blueprint reading

Soft Skills

• Attention to detail
• Communication skills
• Problem-solving

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with CNC machines: Familiarity with CNC programming and operation.
• Experience with precision measuring tools: Proficient in using tools like micrometers and calipers.
• Experience with CAD/CAM software: A solid understanding of design software applications.
