Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bosun to join our team. As a Bosun, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing various tasks related to the maintenance, repair, and operation of a vessel. This role requires exceptional leadership skills, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to work effectively under pressure. You'll supervise deckhands and ensure compliance with safety regulations while maintaining a high standard of service. Responsibilities

• Ensure the safe and reliable operation of all deck machinery.
• Drive improvements in maintenance practices and crew performance.
• Provide ongoing training and support to crew members.
• Manage emergency equipment checks and readiness drills.
• Work with the captain to ensure adherence to shipping schedules.
• Develop strategies for improving logistics and cargo handling processes.
• Foster a culture of teamwork and accountability among crew members.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and crew certifications.
• Engage with vendors and suppliers for sourcing equipment and supplies.
• Help develop and implement safety policies and emergency response plans.

Requirements

Education

• Certificate IV in Maritime Operations is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in a supervisory role within marine operations.

Languages

Advantageous
