Job Description

As a Cattle Shipper, you will oversee the safe transportation of cattle from farms to processing plants. You must be knowledgeable about animal welfare regulations and logistics management to ensure compliance and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the transport of cattle, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws.
• Educate staff on proper animal handling and safety procedures.
• Negotiate contracts with transportation vendors to achieve cost-effective solutions.
• Conduct regular inspections of transport vehicles for compliance and safety.
• Prepare reports on transport logistics and compliance for management review.
• Develop relationships with key stakeholders in the agriculture sector.
• Respond to any issues arising during transportation promptly and effectively.

Requirements

Education

• Certificate in Logistics or equivalent

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in logistics or animal handling

Advantageous

• Experience with livestock handling and care: Familiarity with the needs and care protocols for livestock during transport.
• Knowledge of the Australian livestock industry: Understanding the market dynamics and regulations in livestock transportation.
