Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Mental Health Counselor to join our team within the Department of Corrections. This vital role involves working closely with offenders, conducting assessments, and providing support to facilitate their successful reintegration into society.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive mental health treatment plans tailored to individual offender needs.
  • Regularly assess and adjust treatment plans based on offender progress and feedback.
  • Provide crisis intervention services as needed.
  • Conduct workshops and educational sessions on mental health and wellness topics.
  • Collaborate with external service providers to coordinate care for offenders.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and policies governing mental health services.
  • Utilize case management software to track and analyze case data.
  • Engage actively in team meetings and contribute to organizational goals.
  • Maintain appropriate boundaries and confidentiality in all client interactions.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field
  • Master's degree is preferred
Experience
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience working with individuals in the criminal justice system.
