We are searching for an experienced Insurance Underwriter to join our Wagga Wagga office. The successful candidate will evaluate insurance applications, assess risks, and provide comprehensive underwriting solutions. Responsibilities

• Analyze complex insurance applications to determine coverage adequacy.
• Facilitate discussions with brokers and agents regarding policy options.
• Identify patterns in claims data and adjust underwriting criteria.
• Review insurance policy terms for accuracy and compliance.
• Provide feedback for process improvements within underwriting.
• Generate underwriting guidelines for new products.
• Train junior underwriters in best practices and compliance.
• Collaborate with fraud detection teams when necessary.
• Prepare for audits and regulatory reviews related to underwriting.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of related insurance laws.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field
• Postgraduate qualifications in risk management are advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in a similar underwriting role

Technical Skills

• Insurance Law Knowledge
• Financial Acumen

• Negotiation
• Time Management

Certifications

• Certified Insurance Data Manager (CIDM)
• Level 3 Certificate in General Insurance

Languages

• English: Fluent
