Arborist Assistant

Job Description

We are looking for an Arborist Assistant who is passionate about nature and the environment to support our arborists in tree maintenance and care. The ideal candidate will assist with tree climbing, pruning, and ground maintenance, becoming an integral part of our dedicated team.

Responsibilities

• Help in tree climbing, pruning, and removals as directed by experienced arborists.
• Ensure all tools and equipment are prepared and maintained for daily operations.
• Safely operate machinery such as trucks, wood chippers, and stump grinders.
• Participate in planting and caring for new trees and shrubs.
• Conduct routine maintenance tasks including site clean-up and debris removal.
• Engage with clients and provide updates on services and outcomes.
• Adhere strictly to safety protocols and regulations in all work areas.
• Attend training sessions for further skill development and certification.
• Assist with administrative tasks such as logging work hours and maintaining equipment logs.

Requirements

Education

• Completion of secondary school
• Certification in arboriculture or horticulture preferred

Experience

• At least 1-2 years of experience in tree care, landscaping, or a related field

Technical Skills

• Equipment handling
• Knowledge of local flora

Soft Skills

• Detail-oriented
• Problem-solving

Certifications

• First Aid and CPR certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with landscaping and horticulture: Background in general landscaping tasks and plant care.
• Additional certifications in environmental management: Certification focused on environmental conservation principles.
