As a Canine Officer, you will work with a specially trained police dog to prevent and solve crimes. Your role will involve conducting searches, apprehending suspects, and providing essential support in various public safety operations.
Responsibilities
Work in partnership with the K-9 unit for effective crime prevention.
Conduct regular assessments of canine behavior and performance.
Provide assistance during emergency situations requiring canine intervention.
Help facilitate the procurement of K-9 training equipment.
Participate in ongoing training for skill enhancement.
Promote positive community relations through K-9 demonstrations.
Requirements
Education
Certification as a police officer
Certification for K-9 handlers is preferred
Valid driver's license
Experience
At least 3 years of experience in law enforcement, with some experience in K-9 operations
