We are looking for a skilled Gear Hobber Set-Up Operator to become a vital part of our team in Melbourne. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating gear hobbing machines, producing precision gears that meet high-quality specifications. Ideal candidates will have a strong mechanical background and experience in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Configure and operate gear hobbing machines per established protocols.
• Monitor machine performance, making timely adjustments to ensure quality output.
• Inspect and measure finished products for quality control purposes.
• Keep comprehensive records of machine settings and production quantities.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity.
• Follow all safety protocols and maintain a tidy workspace.
• Provide feedback on machine performance and suggest improvements.
• Train junior operators in machine setup and operational best practices.
• Analyze production metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certificate in machining or mechanical engineering preferred

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a machine operator role, preferably in gear hobbing.
