Job Description

We are on the lookout for a skilled Mastic Man to join our dynamic construction team in Sydney. As a Mastic Man, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity of sealants applied to various commercial and residential projects, ensuring they are both effective and aesthetically pleasing.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces by cleaning and applying primer before mastic application.
• Use caulking guns and other equipment to apply sealant.
• Ensure all mastic applications meet specifications and industry standards.
• Conduct quality control checks on completed work.
• Work safely at heights using ladders and scaffolding.
• Assist project managers with scheduling and coordinating tasks.
• Participate in safety meetings and training.
• Report any unsafe conditions or hazards immediately.
• Maintain a clean and organized worksite.
• Provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients.

Requirements

Education

• Cert III in Construction Waterproofing
• Additional certifications in building and construction are advantageous.

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in mastic or sealant application.

Technical Skills

• Experience with various sealants and waterproofing materials
• Knowledge of building codes and regulations

Soft Skills

• Strong teamwork skills
• Adaptability

Certifications

• Cert III in Construction Waterproofing
• Working at Heights Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Additional certifications in building and construction: Certifications such as Cert IV in Building and Construction are advantageous.
• Experience working on complex building structures: Familiarity with applying mastic in challenging environments.
