Job Description
As a Freight Car Inspector, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our rail operations. Your primary responsibility will involve inspecting freight cars for damage or defects and performing routine maintenance as needed.
Responsibilities
Inspect freight cars regularly and ensure they are free from defects.
Prepare reports detailing inspection findings and actions taken.
Perform minor repairs and maintenance on freight cars.
Collaborate with operations to ensure timely repairs and inspections.
Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations.
Train and mentor junior inspectors as needed.
Utilize inspection tools effectively to maintain accuracy.
Review and update inspection procedures regularly.
Requirements
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required
Technical qualification in a relevant discipline is an advantage
Experience
2+ years of experience in railway operations or freight car maintenance
