Job Description

We are currently seeking an IT Support Technician to join our team in Hobart. As an integral member of our IT department, you will provide technical assistance and support to our staff and clients, ensuring that IT systems are running smoothly. This position requires a proactive approach to solving technical issues and a commitment to excellent customer service. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues, as well as a passion for technology and helping others.

Responsibilities

  • Address user inquiries and resolve technical problems via phone, email, or in-person.
  • Keep track of support requests, prioritising and escalating issues as necessary.
  • Assist with IT procurement and asset management.
  • Conduct hardware repairs and replacements as required.
  • Ensure all support documentation is kept up-to-date and accessible.
  • Liaise with external vendors for equipment and troubleshooting.
  • Help design and implement IT policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to team meetings and project planning.
  • Evaluate and improve existing processes to enhance efficiency.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and potential applications.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related discipline
  • Certifications in relevant IT fields are highly regarded
Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in technical support roles
