Job Description

As a Sign Language Teacher, your role will involve delivering quality instruction to students of all ages and abilities. You will create engaging lesson plans, employ diverse teaching methods, and adapt to various learning styles to foster a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities

  • Instruct students in sign language, adapting lessons for different learning styles and abilities.
  • Design and create teaching materials and resources for sign language instruction.
  • Encourage student engagement and participation through interactive learning methods.
  • Evaluate student performance and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with other educators to integrate sign language into broader educational programs.
  • Advocate for students’ needs and promote awareness of sign language within the school community.
  • Document and report on student progress regularly.
  • Work closely with parents to support student learning goals.
  • Participate in school events and activities to enhance community involvement.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
  • Postgraduate qualification preferred
Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years' teaching experience in sign language or related field.
