Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Mental Health Therapist to join our team in Ballarat. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of mental health issues and be passionate about providing therapeutic support to individuals in need. You will work closely with clients to develop treatment plans and assist them in achieving their mental health goals.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual therapy and support to clients of varying ages and backgrounds.
• Evaluate client problems and identify appropriate therapeutic approaches.
• Work collaboratively with external healthcare providers for comprehensive treatment.
• Document client interactions and treatment outcomes in compliance with legal standards.
• Participate in supervision and peer discussions to promote professional growth.
• Offer education and resources to clients and their families.

Requirements

Education

• Master’s degree in Social Work or Psychology
• Postgraduate qualifications in mental health preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of experience providing therapy

Technical Skills

• Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
• Mindfulness Techniques

Soft Skills

• Interpersonal Skills
• Adaptability

Certifications

• Psychological First Aid Certification
• Certified Mental Health Therapist

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Bilingual skills: Ability to conduct therapy in languages other than English.
• Experience with group therapy: History of facilitating group therapy sessions effectively.
