Personal Care Aide

Job Description

As a Personal Care Aide, you will play a crucial role in supporting visually impaired individuals by assisting them in their daily activities. You will help clients navigate their environments, provide emotional support, and enable them to live as independently as possible.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one assistance to clients in daily tasks and mobility.
• Assist with meal preparation and light household chores.
• Encourage clients to participate in community activities.
• Utilize assistive technology to enhance client communication.
• Deliver compassionate support and companionship.
• Monitor client wellbeing and report any concerns to the care team.
• Engage clients in conversation to foster social connections.
• Help manage medication schedules and reminders.

Requirements

Education

• Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent
• First Aid and CPR certification

Experience

• Experience with visually impaired individuals is an advantage.

• Knowledge of mobility aids

Languages

• English: Fluent
