Materials Specialist

Job Description

As a Materials Specialist, you will manage the materials inventory, forecast demand, and ensure that we have the necessary materials in stock to meet production requirements. You will work closely with purchasing and production teams to guarantee timely deliveries, driving efficiency across our operations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor materials consumption and provide insights to reduce waste.
• Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality and delivery performance.
• Assist in the negotiation of purchases to achieve cost savings.
• Identify and mitigate risks in the supply chain related to materials.
• Facilitate communication between departments regarding material needs.
• Analyze materials requirements for upcoming projects.
• Enhance reporting tools for better inventory visibility.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Operations Management or a relevant field

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or materials environment

Technical Skills

• Inventory management techniques
• Knowledge of logistics and supply chain principles

Soft Skills

• Project management abilities
• Strong negotiation skills

Certifications

• Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
• Six Sigma Green Belt

Languages

• English: Fluent
