Child Guidance Counselor

Job Description

As a Child Guidance Counselor, you will play a pivotal role in providing essential counseling services to children and youth who are experiencing emotional and behavioral problems. You will work closely with families, educational institutions, and other professionals to develop effective treatment plans and strategies to support each child's unique needs.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and diagnose children’s emotional and behavioral problems.
• Collaborate with social workers and educational staff to coordinate care.
• Provide resources and referrals for family support services.
• Lead workshops and training for parents on managing children's behavioral issues.
• Engage in community outreach to improve awareness of counseling services.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work
• Professional certification in child counselling is advantageous

Experience

• Experience in therapeutic environments working with youth
