Job Description

As a Journeyman Painter, you will take on a pivotal role in painting and finishing surfaces made from various materials, including wood, metal, and plaster. You’ll engage in a variety of projects ranging from new constructions to refurbishments, ensuring all work meets safety and environmental standards.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect surfaces prior to painting and advise on repairs needed.
  • Select appropriate tools and equipment for the job.
  • Provide excellent customer service to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate records of materials and colours used.
  • Assist with training of apprentices and new team members.
  • Report any issues or discrepancies to the project manager.
  • Keep up-to-date with current painting techniques and materials.
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss project timelines and goals.

Requirements

Education
  • Completion of a trade certificate in Painting and Decorating
  • Additional certifications related to eco-friendly painting techniques are a plus
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in painting and decorating
Technical Skills
  • Professional Painting Techniques

Advantageous
