Logging Equipment Operator

Job Description

As a Logging Equipment Operator, you will operate and maintain various logging machinery to ensure efficient and safe operations. You will work closely with the Logging Supervisor and the team to meet production targets while adhering to safety and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine maintenance on logging machinery to ensure optimal performance.
• Train new operators on equipment usage and safety best practices.
• Correlate production data with operational efficiency to improve processes.
• Collaborate with the forestry team to meet logistic requirements.
• Ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards during operations.
• Assist in developing production targets and strategies.
• Take part in regular safety drills and training sessions.
• Document daily equipment operations and maintenance logs.
• Provide feedback to management on equipment performance and issues.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss project goals and safety measures.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in heavy machinery operation, preferably in logging or forestry.

Technical Skills

• Heavy Machinery Operation

Certifications

• Certificate IV in Forest Operations

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• First Aid Certification: Having a valid First Aid certification is a plus.
• Experience with GPS Navigation: Familiarity with GPS tools for location tracking on logging sites.
