Conservation Scientist

Job Description

As a Conservation Scientist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing erosion and sediment control plans for various construction projects. You will ensure compliance with environmental regulations while collaborating with teams to maintain sustainable practices.

Responsibilities

• Assess site conditions and develop strategies to minimise environmental impact.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
• Conduct soil testing and risk assessments for potential erosion issues.
• Design and implement effective sediment control measures.
• Collaborate with engineers and architects to ensure environmentally friendly designs.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of erosion control measures and recommend improvements.
• Report findings to management and prepare relevant documentation.
• Lead community outreach programs to educate stakeholders about sustainable landscaping.
• Participate in ongoing training to maintain knowledge of environmental standards.
• Develop working relationships with regulatory bodies and environmental organisations.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related field
• Master’s degree in Environmental Studies is a plus

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in conservation or environmental science roles
