Job Description

We are searching for a detailed-oriented Tax Examiner and Collector to join our team in Melbourne. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting audits, investigations, and ensuring compliance with taxation laws. Ideal applicants have extensive experience in tax examination and a keen understanding of legal frameworks surrounding taxation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct audits and investigations into income tax compliance.
• Identify and pursue cases of tax evasion and fraud.
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations for management and legal authorities.
• Assist with legal actions and prosecutions when necessary.
• Stay updated with changes in tax laws and regulations.
• Provide tax compliance advice and support to clients.
• Collaborate with finance and legal teams to ensure compliance.
• Manage and mentor a team of investigators, where necessary.
• Develop and implement policies to improve compliance.
• Conduct training sessions for staff and clients on tax laws and regulations.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• CPA or equivalent certification is preferred

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in taxation and compliance roles
