Resident Buyer

Job Description

We are seeking a proactive Resident Buyer to oversee procurement operations and maintain supplier relationships. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring product availability while adhering to budget constraints.

Responsibilities

• Identify market trends to inform procurement decisions.
• Work with the Product Development team to align purchasing with new product lines.
• Conduct supplier performance evaluations and report findings.
• Ensure compliance with import/export regulations.
• Support sustainability initiatives in supplier selection.
• Lead cross-functional meetings to improve supplier collaboration.
• Utilize procurement software to streamline processes.
• Train junior staff on procurement practices and tools.
• Assist with budget preparation and monitoring.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
• Master's degree in Business or Supply Chain Management is advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years in procurement or supplier management

Technical Skills

• ERP Systems

Certifications

• Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Proficiency in Other Languages: Ability to communicate in Mandarin or other Asian languages is a plus.
• Experience in Retail Sector: Previous procurement experience specifically in the retail or FMCG sectors.
