Fruit Shipper

Job Description

As a Fruit Shipper, you will play a key role in the preparation and shipping of fresh produce in a timely manner. You'll ensure that all products are packaged and labeled properly to meet quality standards and customer demands.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and pack fruits according to quality standards.
• Label and tag boxes for shipment.
• Maintain inventory records and report any discrepancies to supervisor.
• Ensure timely delivery of shipments.
• Carry out health and safety checks as per company policy.
• Assist in training new staff members in packing processes.
• Manage supplies and report any shortages.
• Coordinate with logistics personnel to optimise routes for delivery.
• Assist in maintaining warehouse cleanliness and equipment.
• Perform additional tasks related to fresh produce handling as directed.

Requirements

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience

• Experience with packaging and shipping fresh produce preferred.

Technical Skills

• Basic computer skills
• Problem-solving skills

Soft Skills

• Adaptability
• Time management skills

Certifications

• Forklift Certification (preferred)
• First Aid and CPR Certification (preferred)

Languages

• English: Fluent

• Experience with refrigeration and temperature-controlled storage: Familiarity with storage practices for perishable goods.
• Knowledge of industry standards and regulations: Understanding of compliance requirements for food handling.
