Chemical Dependency Technician

Job Description

The Chemical Dependency Technician plays a vital role in assisting clients struggling with substance abuse. You will provide essential support in daily activities and therapeutic sessions under the supervision of licensed professionals.

Responsibilities

• Help clients engage in daily living activities, promoting independence.
• Document clients' behaviors and progress in recovery.
• Encourage participation in group activities and individual therapy.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures.
• Support clients in crisis situations and provide de-escalation techniques.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to develop treatment plans.
• Conduct intakes and assessments for new clients.
• Assist in data collection for quality improvement initiatives.
• Facilitate community resource connections for clients.
• Conduct regular safety checks and maintain the facilities.

Requirements

Education

• Certificate IV in Community Services or Mental Health
• Advanced diploma in a related field is an advantage

Experience

• Experience working with diverse populations in addiction recovery settings.
