Job Description

We are looking for a Mental Health Counselor to provide support to offenders, conducting assessments and developing case plans tailored to individual needs. You will play a crucial role in helping individuals address their behaviours and work towards successful rehabilitation.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough assessments to determine offenders' psychological needs.
  • Create tailored case management plans for each offender.
  • Deliver counselling sessions to help offenders improve their mental health.
  • Regularly assess and document offenders' progress.
  • Work with law enforcement and legal teams to ensure effective management.
  • Prepare reports for court proceedings and reviews.
  • Lead workshops and programs aimed at rehabilitation.
  • Assist in policy formulation for offender management.
  • Support victims of crime through referrals and resources.
  • Engage in professional development to enhance counselling techniques.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field
  • Completion of a relevant training program (e.g. Offender Management Course)
Experience
  • At least 2 years' experience in a similar role
