Job Description

We are on the lookout for a detail-oriented Procurement Officer to join our vibrant team in Townsville. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the purchasing process, ensuring that our procurement strategies align with the overall business goals. You will manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and drive cost-effective sourcing initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Review purchase requisitions and ensure compliance with budgetary constraints.
  • Negotiate pricing and contract terms with suppliers to maximize value.
  • Perform risk assessments related to procurement and supplier relationships.
  • Implement best practices for procurement processes and supplier evaluation.
  • Investigate and resolve procurement-related issues and supplier disputes.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation.
  • Assess market trends and identify opportunities for product versatility.
  • Train and support junior procurement staff in their daily responsibilities.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives related to procurement efficiencies.
  • Provide recommendations for inventory management and stock levels.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Business, or related field
Experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in successful procurement environments
