Job Description

The Specialized Programs Teacher Assistant will provide support in delivering tailored educational programs to students with specific needs. This position calls for a patient, empathetic individual who can communicate effectively with both students and staff.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the classroom teacher to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
• Facilitate small group or one-on-one instruction for students requiring additional support.
• Monitor classroom behaviour and assist with behaviour management strategies.
• Provide necessary support during assessments and standardized testing.
• Engage with students and create a supportive learning environment.
• Participate in professional development and training sessions.
• Collaborate with allied health professionals to provide holistic support to students.
• Actively communicate with parents regarding student progress and behavioural concerns.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to student planning.

Requirements

Education

• Relevant diploma or degree in education or related field

Experience

• Experience working in an educational setting is preferred.

Languages

• English: Fluent
