Job Description

An exciting opportunity for a Shop Teacher to join our educational institution and contribute to our students' learning and development in the field of carpentry and woodworking. The role involves teaching practical skills and fostering an engaging learning environment.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality shop classes, teaching woodworking and trade skills to students.
  • Develop, plan, and deliver engaging curriculum aligned with educational standards.
  • Provide guidance and support to students in their learning and skill development.
  • Ensure the safety of students during practical sessions and maintain a conducive learning environment.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall shop program and contribute to curriculum development.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, assessments, and other relevant documentation.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and education practices to enhance teaching methods.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development programs, and parent-teacher conferences.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a relevant field
  • Certificate in WHS (Work Health and Safety)
Experience
  • Preferably experience in managing and maintaining workshop tools and equipment.
