Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated Portable Sawmill Operator to manage the operation of our sawmill equipment, ensuring high-quality processing of timber materials while following stringent safety guidelines.
Responsibilities
Set up and operate portable sawmill machinery to cut logs into lumber.
Ensure equipment is functioning efficiently and safely.
Adjust sawmill settings according to the dimensions needed.
Monitor the quality of lumber produced and make adjustments as necessary.
Document all logs processed, including size and type.
Assist in training new operators in equipment operation and safety.
Troubleshoot issues as they arise during production.
Follow environmental guidelines to reduce waste and ensure sustainability.
Evaluate production processes to identify areas for improvement and innovation.
Contribute to a positive team environment through effective communication.
Requirements
Education
Certification in Timber Processing or related field preferred.
Experience
3+ years of relevant experience in timber processing.
