Job Description

As a Kelp Gatherer, you will play a vital role in harvesting kelp from designated coastal waters. This physically demanding role requires excellent swimming skills and the ability to work well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate harvesting equipment safely and efficiently.
• Monitor kelp growth and assess harvesting conditions.
• Assist in the initial processing of kelp.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
• Communicate effectively with other team members and supervisors.
• Help implement improvements in harvesting techniques.
• Engage in routine maintenance of harvesting tools.
• Keep work areas clean and organized.
• Actively participate in safety meetings and training.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent

Experience

• No prior experience required, but experience in marine or physically demanding environments is advantageous.
