Job Description

Join our team as a Forest Fire Control Officer, where you will be instrumental in both fire prevention and response efforts. Your responsibilities will include monitoring forest areas, conducting education campaigns, and maintaining fire suppression tools. Collaborating with local agencies, you will develop comprehensive fire management plans that ensure the safety of both the natural environment and local communities.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development and implementation of fire prevention strategies.
  • Conduct fire behaviour assessments and hazard analyses.
  • Establish partnerships with local organisations to enhance fire management efforts.
  • Present findings and recommendations to higher management and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate in post-fire recovery and assessment processes.
  • Monitor weather patterns to anticipate fire risks.
  • Ensure the availability and readiness of fire suppression resources.
  • Manage operational budgets for fire management programmes.
  • Lead workshops and training sessions for fire control staff.
  • Facilitate community events focused on fire safety and preparedness.

Requirements

Education
  • Diploma in Fire Management or related field
Experience
  • Experience working within conservation or emergency services.
