Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Medical Coding Technician to join our healthcare team. This essential role involves accurately coding medical diagnoses and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology and coding systems, alongside excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain coding procedures in line with healthcare regulations.
• Collaborate with IT to ensure coding software meets the needs of the medical coding team.
• Monitor compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in coding practices.
• Support the auditing team with information and analysis from coding operations.
• Participate in quality assurance initiatives to enhance coding accuracy.
• Develop training materials for new coding staff.
• Facilitate workshops on the latest coding practices and standards.
• Ensure effective documentation practices are adhered to.

Requirements

Education

• Associate degree in Health Information Management or similar

Experience

• 2-4 years of experience in medical coding

• ICD-10
• CPT
• HCPCS
• EHR systems

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous
