Job Description

As a Tape Librarian, you will be responsible for managing and organizing tape storage systems in an efficient and effective manner. You will handle the classification, cataloguing, and retrieval of tapes to support data storage and backup operations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the lifecycle of tape media from acquisition to disposal.
  • Establish protocols for data integrity and preservation.
  • Assist in the setup and maintenance of tape management software.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in tape inventories.
  • Optimize storage conditions to prolong tape lifespan.
  • Keep abreast of new storage technologies and methodologies.
  • Prepare reports on tape usage and system performance.

Requirements

Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Certifications in data management or IT are a plus
Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in media asset management preferred
Technical Skills
  • Inventory management systems
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Soft Skills
  • Organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills
Languages
  • English: Fluent
