Job Description

We are seeking a Membership Solicitor to join our team in Sydney. In this pivotal role, you will provide expert legal support and guidance to our membership team, ensuring compliance with all legal requirements while handling membership-related legal issues.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive legal support for membership-related issues.
• Coordinate with external legal advisors when necessary.
• Assist in drafting policies and procedures concerning membership matters.
• Engage in negotiation and settlement discussions.
• Conduct training sessions for the membership team on legal compliance.
• Monitor changes in legislation affecting membership operations.
• Collaborate closely with other departments to address legal needs.
• Prepare reports detailing legal compliance and risks.
• Actively participate in organization-wide initiatives and projects.
• Support the General Counsel in formulating legal strategies.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor of Laws degree or equivalent
• Postgraduate qualification is advantageous

Experience

• 5 years of legal experience, preferably in a not-for-profit sector.
