Job Description

As a Construction and Building Inspector, you will evaluate commercial properties to ensure they meet essential safety and compliance standards. Your expertise will play a vital role in identifying risks, documenting findings, and recommending improvements.

Responsibilities

• Inspect buildings for compliance with architectural and engineering standards.
• Review construction plans to identify potential issues before they arise.
• Coordinate with local council representatives to ensure adherence to standards.
• Advise clients on compliance issues and rectification processes.
• Engage in continuous learning to remain knowledgeable about building practices and regulations.
• Mentor junior inspectors and provide training on best practices.

Requirements

Education

• Diploma in Building and Construction

Experience

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in the construction or building inspection field.

Technical Skills

• Building Information Modeling (BIM)
• Microsoft Office Suite

Soft Skills

• Interpersonal skills
• Adaptability

Certifications

• CPD Certified Inspector

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with large-scale projects: Hands-on experience in inspection for complex commercial projects.
• Expert witness experience: Experience in providing expert witness testimony in disputes related to building compliance.
