Prepress Technician

Job Description

A Prepress Technician is responsible for producing printing plates required for the printing process. The role involves ensuring that all plates are produced accurately and efficiently while maintaining stringent quality standards. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in prepress processes and possess a strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and optimize the plate-making workflow to achieve consistent results.
• Implement best practices in prepress processes to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
• Provide input for process improvements based on hands-on production experiences.
• Report any concerns related to production quality directly to the Production Manager.
• Maintain accurate records of production processes and display metrics for analysis.

Requirements

Education

• Certificate III in Printing (Plate Making) or equivalent

Experience

• A few years' experience in plate making or a related printing field.

Technical Skills

• Digital printing technologies
• Prepress software
• Plate inventory management

Soft Skills

• Communication
• Adaptability

Certifications

• Previous experience in a commercial printing environment
• Experience with pre-press processes

Languages

• English: Fluent
