Job Description

The Staff Mine Warfare Officer is a crucial role responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing mine warfare operations, ensuring the safety of naval forces across Australian waters. This role entails collaborating with various departments and personnel to achieve operational success, giving the candidate a chance to be at the forefront of defence operations.

Responsibilities

• Draft and present operational plans to senior leadership.
• Oversee the execution of live mine warfare drills.
• Guide strategic planning for long-term military engagements.
• Review and update mine warfare tactics based on new intelligence.
• Ensure effective communications between naval units during operations.
• Implement advanced technology in mine warfare strategies.
• Collaborate with engineers to enhance mine detection techniques.
• Participate in international military training exercises.
• Assess the effectiveness of existing mine warfare procedures.
• Drive continuous improvement in mine warfare tactics.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Defence Studies
• Additional qualifications in Defence Management preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of leadership experience in mine warfare operations
