Metal-Refining Furnace Operator

Job Description

Join our production team as an Electric Melt Operator, where you'll be responsible for operating electric melt furnaces. This role requires a firm grasp of the melting process and the skills to troubleshoot any operational issues, ensuring high-quality output in compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate electric melt furnaces according to the production schedule.
• Monitor the melting process and adjust parameters to maintain product quality.
• Maintain and troubleshoot equipment as needed.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Complete required documentation accurately and on time.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks on equipment.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities to increase efficiency.
• Train new operators on equipment and procedures.

Requirements

Education

• Certificate III in Engineering - Technical (or equivalent)

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role

Technical Skills

• SCADA systems
• PLC programming
• Handheld measurement tools

Advantageous

• Certificate IV in Engineering - Technical (or higher): Higher qualifications demonstrate advanced technical understanding.
• Experience with aluminum melting or casting processes: Direct experience with processes in aluminum manufacturing.
• Experience with induction heating systems: Familiarity with induction systems for enhanced melting efficiency.
• Experience with robotic systems: Understanding of integration with robotic assisted systems.
