We are seeking compassionate Genetic Counselors to join our dedicated team in Sydney. In this role, you will provide essential genetic counseling services to patients and families, assisting them in understanding genetic risks and making informed choices about their health. Collaborating closely with healthcare professionals, you will conduct assessments, interpret genetic information, and offer emotional support throughout their journey.

Responsibilities

• Lead genetic counseling sessions and provide informed support to patients.
• Conduct assessments to identify genetic risks based on family history.
• Educate patients on genetic conditions and available testing options.
• Facilitate discussions about the psychological and social implications of genetic information.
• Liaise with healthcare providers to coordinate patient-centered care.
• Support patients in developing decision-making strategies regarding genetic testing.
• Document all interactions and keep detailed patient records.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
• Engage in public education initiatives related to genetic conditions and testing.
• Assess patient needs for specialized resources and advocate on their behalf.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Genetic Counseling or related disciplines
• PhD in Genetics or related field is an advantage

Experience

• Minimum 2 years clinical experience in genetic counseling or appropriate healthcare.
