Skip Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Skip Operator to manage the transportation and maintenance of skips in various construction environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient waste management and adherence to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of skip transportation.
• Ensure that all skips are properly loaded to prevent spillage during transport.
• Follow designated routes for efficient skip collection and drop-off.
• Coordinate with site operations to schedule skip collections as needed.
• Implement waste reduction initiatives within the operational framework.
• Review and complete daily logbooks and maintenance records.

Requirements

Education

• A valid Australian driver's license (with a clean driving record)

Experience

• Experience in waste management, transportation, or related fields preferred.

Technical Skills

• Heavy machinery operation
• Basic maintenance skills

Soft Skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good time management skills

Advantageous

• Experience with hydraulic systems: Knowledge of operating and maintaining hydraulic systems in skip trucks.
• Safety training certifications: Holds certifications in workplace health and safety regulations.
