Job Description

We are looking for dedicated Sailors and Marine Oilers to join our crew in Sydney. Ideal candidates possess strong seaworthy skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for the maritime industry. This role involves operating vessels, maintaining equipment, and ensuring safety protocols are followed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections of marine equipment and report deficiencies.
• Assist with the training of junior crew members.
• Perform routine safety checks and emergency preparedness drills.
• Participate in vessel cleaning and maintenance activities.
• Support the Captain and senior officers in vessel operations.
• Prepare and maintain maintenance records and reports.
• Ensure proper operation of communication systems onboard.
• Adhere to environmental and safety protocols at all times.

Requirements

Education

• Certificate III in Maritime Operations
• Relevant maritime qualifications are preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of sea experience preferred

Technical Skills

• Navigation
• Cargo Handling

Soft Skills

• Situational Awareness
• Adaptability

Certifications

• Certificate in Small Vessel Operations
• Marine Radio Operators Course

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in emergency response situations: Knowledge of protocols and procedures in case of vessel emergencies.
• Skippering experience: Previous experience as a crew member on a range of vessels.
