Job Description

Join our dynamic team as Brickmasons and Blockmasons, where you will contribute to various construction projects across Melbourne. Candidates must have a solid understanding of masonry techniques and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

Responsibilities

• Lay bricks, blocks, and other materials to construct walls and structures.
• Prepare and clean surfaces for laying materials.
• Mix and apply mortar to secure bricks and other materials in place.
• Accurately cut and shape materials to meet specific design requirements.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and complete work to a high standard.
• Collaborate with other construction professionals to accomplish project objectives.
• Complete additional duties as assigned by the Site Foreman.

Requirements

Education

• Completion of a bricklaying apprenticeship or vocational training program
• Certification in brick masonry or related field preferred

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a brickmason or in a related field

Technical Skills

• Blueprint reading
• Masonry techniques
• Tool proficiency

Soft Skills

• Attention to detail
• Team collaboration

Certifications

• White Card (Construction Induction Card)
• Valid driver's license

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with historic restoration projects: Hands-on experience restoring old and heritage-listed buildings.
• Experience with intricate masonry designs: Knowledge of advanced masonry techniques for decorative purposes.
