Job Description

Join our compassionate team as a Trade Embalmer. You will be responsible for preparing deceased individuals for their final farewell with dignity and respect, collaborating closely with families and adhering to strict health regulations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare deceased bodies for cremation or burial, ensuring hygiene and safety standards.
• Consult with families to understand their specific needs and preferences.
• Washing, drying, and dressing the body in preparation for the funeral service.
• Apply embalming techniques to sanitize and preserve the body carefully.
• Assist with overall funeral arrangements and support grieving families.

Requirements

Education

• Certificate IV in Embalming/Mortuary Science or equivalent
• Bachelor's degree in Mortuary Science preferred

Experience

• 2-5 years in embalming practices or funeral services industry

Technical Skills

• Cosmetic application
• Health and safety compliance

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving
• Strong communication

Certifications

• First Aid and CPR Certification
• Police clearance certificate

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Customer service experience: Experience interacting with families and providing compassionate service.
• Familiarity with local regulations: Knowledge of laws surrounding funeral services in South Australia.
