Log Sorter

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Log Sorter to manage the sorting and grading of logs in our log yard. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring all logs meet industry standards while using various tools and equipment to perform their tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate logs for quality and size before sorting.
• Operate chainsaws and other machinery safely and effectively.
• Inspect equipment and report any malfunctions to the supervisor.
• Document grades and dimensions of sorted logs for inventory tracking.
• Ensure a clean and organized work environment.
• Assist in maintaining log yard operational standards.
• Work closely with the safety officer to uphold workplace safety protocols.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent

Experience

• Exposure to logging operations preferred.

Technical Skills

• Log Handling Equipment
• Safety Practices

Certifications

• Chainsaw Safety Training
• Forklift Operator License

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous
