Job Description

As a Hospice Art Therapist, you will provide essential art therapy services aimed at enhancing the emotional and psychological wellbeing of patients in a hospice setting. You will work closely with patients to create individualized art therapy plans, fostering creativity and emotional expression during their end-of-life journey.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement individual therapy plans that incorporate the patient's interests and abilities.
  • Guide patients through the art-making process while providing emotional support.
  • Record and monitor patient progress and adapt therapy approaches as necessary.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to communicate insights from art therapy sessions.
  • Identify and address any barriers patients may have in expressing themselves through art.
  • Share knowledge of artistic techniques and materials to enhance patient engagement.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Art Therapy or a related discipline
  • Postgraduate qualifications in a related field are preferred
Experience
  • At least 3 years of experience working in a therapeutic or healthcare environment.
