Job Description

We are on the hunt for a dedicated Oil Floorhand to join our vibrant drilling team. In this dynamic role, you’ll be instrumental in the hands-on operations of our drilling equipment, ensuring that each project runs efficiently and safely. Ideally, you will have some experience in the oil and gas sector, but we are also keen to hear from passionate candidates looking to start a rewarding career in this fast-paced industry.

Responsibilities

• Engage in hands-on operation and maintenance of drilling equipment.
• Maintain effective communication with team members to ensure efficient workflow.
• Participate in pre-shift safety briefings and contribute to a positive safety culture.
• Assist in the preparation of drilling fluids and other essential materials.
• Conduct site inspections and assist in environmental assessments as required.
• Document operational issues and escalate concerns to the drilling supervisor.
• Support the drilling crew during the initiation and completion of drilling activities.
• Coordinate with logistics to ensure timely delivery of supplies.
• Remain adaptable to changing site conditions and operational needs.
• Assist with the set-up of temporary storage for equipment and supplies.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent

Experience

• 1-2 years of experience in oil drilling or construction

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures
• Ability to operate various hand tools

Soft Skills

• Problem-Solving
• Adaptability

Certifications

• Relevant vocational qualifications in drilling or oil and gas (advantageous)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with specific drilling machinery: Prior experience operating drilling equipment like drill bits and pumps.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations in drilling: Understanding of compliance with environmental standards.
